Dear Friends,

The Royal Terns are a uniquely beautiful bird, and one that I have often used as a muse. Their graceful forms, striking plumage, and lively interactions make them a joy to observe and capture in art.

Sculpture Spotlight

Bronze sculpture by Geoffrey C. Smith of two Royal Terns on a branch, one offering a fish to the other in courtship.
The Proposal, 19.75" x 8.5" x 11"

This limited edition bronze sculpture, The Proposal, captures the delicate yet dynamic relationship of two Royal Terns. Perched on a branch, one tern presents a fish to its mate - a timeless symbol of courtship in the natural world.

Painting Spotlight

Oil painting by Geoffrey C. Smith of two Royal Terns on the shore, one standing alert while the other stretches its wing, with bold, textured strokes.
Royal Terns Original Oil, 48"l x 18"h

Rendered with bold palette knife strokes, this painting embodies the movement and energy of these coastal birds. The interplay of blues, whites, and warm sandy tones creates a vibrant, textured depiction of terns at the shore - one preening, the other watching attentively. It's a moment of nature frozen in color and texture.

A Closer Look

Alongside sculpture and painting, I also love capturing the essence of these birds through photography and film. Join me as I explore the Royal Terns on Jupiter Island. Please enjoy the video of the Royal Terns by clicking the link below, as well as the photographs that follow.
